Understanding our Fabrics

We use the highest quality of fabrics for our delightful pieces. All our fabrics are naturally made including viscose, rayon, cotton and linen. We’ve put together a fabric guide, to help understand the fabrics we use.

Viscose

Viscose is made from wood pulp. This fabric is soft, light weight and breathable, which means it’s the perfect material for summer styles. Viscose & Rayon come from the same fabric family but viscose is slightly heavier in weight compared to rayon. There are different variations of viscose, including lyocell and modal.

Lyocell

Lyocell is a beautiful soft fabric, perfect for people who have sensitive skin or allergies. This fabric is created from wood cellulose, making it a naturally sourced material. It is also biodegradable, which means it reduces it’s environmental impact when it’s disposed.

Rayon

Rayon is a naturally sourced fibre, created from wood pulp. Rayon fabric is breathable and absorbs moisture, making it a popular material for the warmer climate.

Linen

Linen originates from the Flax plant and is a very absorbent and durable fabric. Linen is more time consuming during the manufacturing process as the flax plant requires special care during the growing stage. This fabric is also breathable, which is why it’s a popular material for the warmer weather.

Modal

Modal is a type of rayon that is constructed from the beech tree cellulose. This fabric is breathable, absorbent and soft. This light weight fabric is designed to keep you cool in summer but can also keep you warm in winter.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural fabric, created from the cotton plant fibres. Cotton is the most versatile of all the fabrics. There are also different variants of cotton including: Egyptian cotton, Upland cotton, Tree cotton and Levant cotton.
